Amazon today announced the third generation Fire TV Cube, the company"s flagship media player. The updated model features a new design, faster processing, and improved connectivity.

The new Fire TV Cube has a new design with a cloth grille covering the built-in speaker. Together with the built-in microphones, the Fire TV Cube can act as an Alexa device for your home.

The new Fire TV Cube has an updated processor, which is claimed to be 2x as powerful as the one on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. This should improve app load times and also help speed up video playback performance in apps.

In terms of connectivity, the Fire TV Cube now also has HDMI input for connecting your cable box, which you can then control using Alexa or the Fire TV Cube remote. The Fire TV Cube also includes the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard for more reliable wireless connectivity. There is also a USB-A port for connecting compatible webcams for video calls.

Amazon also launched the new Alexa Voice Remote Pro, with remote finder, customizable buttons, and backlighting.

The Remote Pro has a built-in speaker that emits an audible ring to help you find it. To active the feature, just ask Alexa to find your remote. There are two customizable buttons on it so you can assign your own shortcuts to your favorite apps, channels, or Alexa commands. And finally, the new remote has motion-activated backlighting that illuminates when the remote is picked up in the dark.

The new Fire TV Cube is priced at $140 while the Alexa Voice Remote Pro is at $35. Both are available for pre-order today.

Amazon also announced its new Omni QLED TV series. It includes a 65-inch and 75-inch models. Both have a 60Hz 4K IPS LCD panel, Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ support, Dolby Atmos, up to 96 zone full array local dimming, 3x HDMI 2.0 and 1x HDMI 2.1 ports, and come with the Alexa Voice Remote. The TVs run on the Android-based Fire TV OS. The 65-inch model is $800 and the 75-inch is $1100.
